Today we’re going to discuss just 8 things you need to do if you don’t want to see scorpions in your house anymore.

First of all, what are scorpions?

Scorpions are dangerous pests and belongs to the class of Arachnida, and they are closely related to spiders, ticks, and mites. They are over 1200 species of scorpions in the world and 70 species in United States, the most dangerous species is the Arizona Bark Scorpions which is found in the American southwest and Northern Mexico.

Scorpions hide during the day and are most active at night, they feed mostly on insects especially cockroaches and crickets, they also feed on spiders, they are so strong that they can survive for months without food provided water is available. Scorpions actually sting as a mode of defense or as a way to kill prey. When humans are stung by scorpion, they(humans) experience a kind of mild symptoms that are similar to that of a bee sting, such as swelling, burning sensation, and temporary pain.

However, it’s very important to eradicate scorpions from our houses because they are dangerous and poisons, below are the 4 things you need to do if you don’t want to see them anymore.

(1) Filling of Spaces Beneath Doors

This is one of the thing you need to consider if you want to eradicate scorpions from your house, those spaces beneath either your garage doors, backyard doors, and main door should be checked for any spaces and should be blocked immediately because any door that leads directly outside have just enough space between the bottom and the ground to allow scorpions into the house. Rubber extensions can be added to the doors of the house to fill up those spaces.

(2) Sealing of Holes in the House.

This is another measure you must take if you want to eradicate scorpions completely from your house. It is funny to know how many holes and spaces a home can have, holes in the ceilings, cabinets, windows, walls, sidings, and even holes in the foundation can be just enough to allow scorpions into your house. Check for any holes in your home and seal everything up.

(3) Clearing of Bushes and Debris Around the House.

If there are lot of bushes around your home or Debris(dirt) in your yard. This could give scorpions easy access to your home, so the best bet is to clear bushes around you and burn all debris in your yard.

(4) Cleaning Inside Your Home.

This last point is very important because you don’t expect that after doing those above three things and you still find scorpions in your home, you need to properly clean your home, scorpions can still hide in piles of clothes, shoes and boxes, and underneath your beds too requires close attention, just ensure you clean your house regularly and fumigate every corners of the home with insecticides and pesticides.

The above guidelines will not only chase away scorpions from your home, but will also make your home safe.
